Rustic Mortar

The RUSTIC mortar supplied by AYMAR S.A.U. is a waterproof and colored mortar, made of cement, marble aggregates of compensated granulometry and special additives that give it an optimal workability for manual application and greater permeability to water vapor.

Composition

Composed of crushed metamorphic limestone aggregates for use in construction, as aggregates for concrete and mortars (EN 12620 and EN 13139), cement CEM I - 42, 5R (EN 197-1 and UNE 80505), calcium hydroxide, slaked hydrated aerial lime (EN 459-1) and organic additives to improve the workability of the mortar, reduce mixing water, increase cohesion, reduce exudation and avoid segregation (EN 934-2).

  • Application field
  • Instructions of use
  • Recomendations of use

RUSTIC mortar has been designed for laying, filling and grouting natural stone, granite, brick walls, block, etc. Suitable for interior and exterior use and ideal for rehabilitation due to its high compatibility with traditional cement-based systems.

  • Substrate preparation: Clean and dampen the substrates before application. The substrate must be completely hardened, resistant, consistent, clean of dust, paint, oil, etc.
  • Preparation of the mixture: always use clean, running water. Add 4,25-4,5l. of mixing water per bag and mix manually or mechanically until obtaining a homogeneous mass and apply.
  • Application of the sample: Spread the material on the joints, allowing the correct penetration of the product. The application should be done in a uniform way, in order to reduce the probability of shade. Once the hardening has started, proceed to brush the surface.
  • Do not apply at low temperatures and high humidity, with rain or with risk of frost.
  • The application temperature should be between 5ºC and 30ºC.
  • Respect in each mixing the proportion of water indicated to avoid color variations.
  • To achieve a satisfactory finish it is advisable to wet the applied mortar several times during the first two weeks after 24 hours after its application.
  • The addition of other material (additives, cement, etc.) can change the behavior and characteristics of the product.
