Technical Joint 0/16 mm

Additive mortar with mixed binders and fine texture for sealing joints from 0 to 16 mm. In all types of tiling, whether ceramic or for low porosity pieces - porcelain stoneware -. ADIMAR JUNTA TÉCNICA 0/16 supplied by AYMAR is a cementitious grouting material according to EN 13888 standard designed and manufactured with marble, cement and special additives that give it properties that place the product in the topology of improved grouting material with high resistance to abrasion, chemical aggressions and high temperatures and reduced water absorption. Technical joint 0/16 Adimar CG2WA.

Composition

Composed of crushed marble aggregates used in construction (EN 12620 and EN 13139), portland cement (EN 197-1 and UNE 80601) and additives of both organic and inorganic nature that give it better characteristics in abrasion resistance and water absorption.

Sealing of joints between tiles of pavements and coverings in interiors and exteriors. Filling of joints between tiles, mosaics, vitreous mosaic, ceramic, stoneware, extruded,... Filling of joints between bricks, natural stones, marbles, hydraulic tiles, terracotta. Ideal for water-repellent joints resistant to solvents, alkaline bases and/or weak acids. Suitable for anti-acid grouting of industrial walls due to its resistance to steam and pressure. Being resistant to fungi and molds, it is a suitable material for grouting joints in hospitals, laboratories, kitchens, etc. Suitable for radiant heating. Suitable for the grouting of swimming pools.

  • Preparation of the substrate: the joints must be dry and clean in all their length and dept
  • The grouting should be done at least 24 h. after gluing in vertical parameters and 48 h. after gluing in pavements.
  • Before starting the application, the ceramic should be protected with a primer against possible stains caused by the pigments and to facilitate its later cleaning.
  • Preparation of the mixture: Add 5,75l of water for each bag of 25 Kg of Adimar Junta and mix manually or mechanically at low revolutions 500 rpm until obtaining a homogeneous and consistent paste.
  • Let the paste rest for 5 minutes and mix again.
  • Application of the paste: Proceed to fill the joints with a rubber trowel or rechargeable gun, compacting the material firmly. The application must be made diagonally to the joints, pressing the paste on the joints and removing the excess material.
  • Allow the material to dry slightly for approximately 30 minutes, when the paste loses its superficial shine, it can be cleaned with a slightly damp sponge.
  • Only when the product has hardened in the joint, it is possible to proceed to the polishing action with a clean and dry cloth to remove the remains of dust.
  • Allow to dry at least 24 hours before pedestrian traffic.
  • Do not apply with temperatures below 5ºC or above 35ºC.
  • Do not apply with risk of frost, rain, strong winds or direct sun.
  • Do not apply in expansion joints or joints subject to structural movements.
  • In rehabilitation, empty completely the joint before the new application.
  • Fill the joints when the coating or pavement is completely dry.
  • In swimming pools wait at least 8 days after grouting for the first filling.
  • For grouting terracotta type pavements or tiles with absorbent surfaces, we recommend to apply a previous protective layer to close the pore and to facilitate the later cleaning. If small joint remains, in rough type tiles, we will proceed to the last cleaning seven days after grouting, using ADIMAR CLEANER, suitably diluted 1:10 with water.
  • For acid-resistant grouts use ADIPOXI
  • On non-dry mortar substrates, efflorescence may appear on the surface.
  • Mixed with dirty or brackish water would cause the colors to brown.
  • Do not add cement or sand to the product since it could lose mechanical and chemical properties.
  • Adimar Technical Joint 0/16 Adimar is not a refractory mortar.
