Adirepar Pasivator

Pre-dosed cement-based mortar with corrosion passivating additives, fast hardening and enhanced with synthetic polymers, used for the protection of concrete reinforcement against corrosion due to the fact that it establishes a basic pH in the medium in which it is applied and as a bonding bridge prior to the application of repair mortars. It also acts as a bonding bridge between the reinforcement and the applied repair mortar.

  • Instructions of use
  • Recomendations of use

Mortar with corrosion inhibitor additives used for the protection of all types of reinforced concrete structures, both curative and preventive in applications in aggressive environments (freeze-thaw cycles, contaminated environments), extending the life of the reinforcements. Used in carbonated concrete with corroded or chloride-contaminated steels, pillars, beams and floor slabs. Suitable for marine works, sewage treatment plants.

  • Preparation of the substrate:

  • The concrete substrate must be fully cured, resistant, consistent, dry, clean of dust, paint, oil, etc. and free of any traces of release agent.
  • The reinforcement must be clean, free of rust and possible remains of concrete.
  • The reinforcement must be cleaned over its entire surface with the aid of a wire brush or sandblasting.
  • Vacuum the dust resulting from the cleaning of the concrete and reinforcement.

  • Preparation of the mixture: Add 5.2-5.6 litres of water per bag and mix with an electric mixer at low r.p.m. until a homogeneous, lump-free paste is obtained, leave the paste to stand for approximately two minutes and stir until a fluid dough texture is obtained.

  • Application of the paste: Apply a first coat of ADIREPAR PASIVADOR of approximately 1 mm manually with a roller or brush. Leave to dry for 3-4 hours (dry to the touch) and apply a second coat of the same thickness to achieve the most homogeneous coverage of the reinforcement possible.

  • The application temperature must be between 5 °C and 35 °C in air and between 5 °C and 25 °C on the substrate.
  • Do not apply if frost is expected or in full sun.
  • Shake periodically to extend the pot life of the paste to its optimum.
  • In case of rain do not apply the product on exposed areas.
  • In case of loss of fluidity and texture that makes the application difficult, add 1% by mass of water and re-mix.
