Technical visit by the Coordinating Committee of Student Representatives from the Mining Schools (CREM) to the Xauxa Mine

Last Friday, 19 June 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Coordinating Committee of Mining Student Representatives (CREM) to the Xauxa Mine for a day of technical exchange and an insight into the real-world environment of underground mining, organised by the Association of Mining Engineers of North-East Spain (COLIMNE).

During the visit, we provided the students with a comprehensive overview of our operation, covering in detail the production processes involved in the extraction of aggregates from hard rock, from mine planning through to extraction and material management.

Furthermore, we placed particular emphasis on some of the fundamental pillars of our business:

  • Health and safety at work, showcasing the technical and organisational solutions implemented to ensure safe working environments, in line with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Mechanisation and operational efficiency, highlighting the use of equipment and methods that optimise productivity whilst maintaining high levels of technical control.
  • Mining sustainability, explaining our strategies to minimise environmental impact, improve resource management and move towards more responsible mining practices.
  • Initiatives of this kind reinforce our commitment to training future generations of mining engineers, facilitating direct contact with operational realities and fostering the exchange of knowledge between academia and industry.

We would like to thank the CREM for its interest and active participation, and we hope we have helped to enrich its learning and understanding of the sector.

We remain committed to safe, efficient and sustainable mining.
